| Abstract: | Епілепсія - найпоширеніше неврологічне захворювання у ветеринарній практиці. Метою цього дослідження є визначення поширення епілепсії у собак залежно від факторів віку та статі при першому нападі. Був проведений аналіз амбулаторних журналів декількох ветеринарних клінік м. Одеса. Досліджувана популяція складалася з собак власники яких зверталися з ознаками епілептичних нападів. Не встановлено суттєвих змін в кількості собак по роках у яких була діагностовано епілепсія. Аналіз особливості прояву епілепсії у собак залежно від віку показав, що частіше, у 62 тварин(64,7%), прояв спостерігається у віці від 2-х до 6-ти років. |
| Description: | The purpose of the study was to study the relationships between the prevalence of epilepsy in dogs and factors such as gender and age of the dog at the first attack. Clinical data obtained from veterinary clinics in Odessa were examined. It has been shown that the first manifestation of epilepsy is most often registered in dogs aged 2 to 6 years. A study of the relationship between the gender of dogs and the frequency of epilepsy showed epilepsy is registered more often in male dogs than in female dogs. Analysis of the literature data showed that further research is needed in the field of differential diagnosis of epilepsies in order to differentiate epilepsies from other neurological diseases. It is also necessary to study the role of sex steroids in the development of epilepsy. |
