The article presents the results of a study of radiation safety levels in the territory of the suburban complex "Ecolandia". During the period of July 2025, measurements of the dose rate of gamma radiation in the air (radiation background) were carried out in the premises where cattle were kept, in a storage area for storing roughage, a silage trench, as well as in pastures.

Modern diagnostic tools for subclinical mastitis in cows

Название: Modern diagnostic tools for subclinical mastitis in cows
Авторы: Kosheva, O., Naydich, O., Skrypka, Н., Pshychenko, V., Kot, S., Yasko, V.
Аннотация: After Ukraine joined the World Trade Organization, requirements for the safety and quality of food products,
particularly milk and its processed products, have significantly increased in both domestic and international markets.
Milk remains one of the basic products in the population's diet. However, its nutritional value and healthpromoting
properties are preserved only if a high level of sanitary quality is maintained and the indicators fully
comply with current state standards. An important factor in ensuring the quality of dairy raw materials is early
diagnosis of subclinical mastitis, which is not accompanied by pronounced clinical signs but significantly affects
milk composition and safety. Therefore, the work aimed to detect the latent form of subclinical mastitis promptly
using the most modern and effective method for determining somatic cells, in a comparative context. Veterinary
and sanitary examination of milk ensures control of product quality and safety before sale. The main studies included
organoleptic evaluation, physicochemical parameters, and determination of somatic cell content, a key
marker of udder health and milk quality. The article presents the results of research on the quality of raw milk sold
in the agro-industrial markets of Mykolaiv. The Californian mastitis test, De Laval, and the Mastydine R test
demonstrated the same effectiveness in detecting subclinical mastitis, with a positive reaction in 8 samples (16%)
out of 50 studied. The milk settling test showed slightly lower efficiency, with a positive reaction in 6 samples
(12 %) out of 50 tested. Therefore, the California test and the Mastidine R test are the most appropriate, and the
settling test yielded less accurate results. Milk with a positive reaction is prohibited for free sale. Thus, determining
the content of somatic cells is a mandatory element of the veterinary and sanitary assessment of milk on the
markets and plays an important role in ensuring the safety and quality of dairy raw materials in accordance with
current national standards.

Monitoring of frozen fish by histamine content and microbiological parameters

Название: Monitoring of frozen fish by histamine content and microbiological parameters
Авторы: Skrypka H., Naydich O., Manoli T., Barysheva Y., Piven O., Menchynska A., Mykhalska V., Mykhniuk S.
Аннотация: As a result of microbiological decomposition of fish raw materials, especially during putrefactive spoilage or when storage parameters are violated, the muscle tissue of fish characterised by an elevated L-histidine content may accumulate the biogenic amine histamine. The purpose of the study was to investigate the safety indicators of frozen fish sold in supermarkets in Odesa (Ukraine) by histamine content and microbiological criteria (number of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms, coliform bacteria, coagulase-positive staphylococci, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, sulphite-reducing Clostridia, Vibrio parahaemolyticus). Histamine content in frozen fish samples was determined by photometric method according to DSTU 4894:2007. Microbiological parameters were studied using the culture method. According to the findings of the study, 55.3% of the samples showed histamine in the range from 11.0 ± 1.13 mg/kg to 216.0 ± 3.24 mg/kg with a total average value of 45.7 ± 13.2 mg/kg. The highest concentrations of histamine were found in samples of longtail southern cod (177.0 ± 2.15), sprat (188.0 ± 2.01), horse mackerel (192.0 ± 5.05), herring (202.0 ± 2.11), and mackerel (216.0 ± 3.24 mg/kg). Histamine content of more than 100.0 mg/kg was detected in 12.1% of positive samples, more than 200.0 mg/kg – in 1.9%, histamine content that was at the limit of an acceptable concentration of 200.0 mg/kg – in 1.9% of samples, respectively. Exceeding the maximum permissible levels of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms (MAFAnM) was detected in samples of “Blakytna” mackerel (Spain) in 10.7 % of the total number of samples with a maximum level of 6.7 x 104 CFU in 1 g; herring – in 6.7% of samples with a maximum level of 6.6 x 104 CFU in 1 g. Coliform bacteria were found in samples of mackerel (Norway) – 9.4% of the total number of samples; “Blakytna” mackerel (Spain) – 7.1%, herring – 13.3%, longtail southern cod – 5.9%, tilapia – 14.3%, sprat – 5.3%, horse mackerel – 5% of the total number of samples, respectively. All the above-mentioned samples had the highest histamine levels, indicating an association between this indicator and the presence of sanitary-indicative microflora. The findings confirmed the danger of some samples of frozen fish sold in the retail network of Odesa, and pointed out the need to strengthen monitoring of fish for histamine content.

APITHERAPY: USE OF BEE PRODUCTS IN VETERINARY MEDICINE(a review)

Название: APITHERAPY: USE OF BEE PRODUCTS IN VETERINARY MEDICINE(a review)
Авторы: Skrypka Н., Dankevych N., Dankevych A.
Аннотация: Apitherapy is a branch of alternative and complementary medicine that involves the use of bee products (honey, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, bee bread, and beeswax) for therapeutic and preventive purposes. In modern conditions of increasing antibiotic resistance, the spread of chronic diseases, and growing interest in natural treatment methods, apitherapy is becoming especially relevant.
